How to Know When It Time To Recharge (and How to Actually Do It!)

Are you feeling a little burned out and over-worked? Is your body giving you signals that it’s feeling the stress you’ve been carrying lately?

It might be time for you to consider a “Recharge”!

Now, I want to be super clear - when I say you need to recharge, I’m not talking about an entire weekend of mindless bingeing of a TV show. I’m talking about something that helps you take a break from your normal routine, but purposely focuses on your mind, body and soul - something that is restorative and will truly give you “rest” like you’ve never known before!

Below are some ways that I choose to recharge - and I hope that this inspires and encourages you to find activities that will give you purposeful rest so that you can find that happy balance in your life!

Body:

  1. When we workout out too much, it can not be suitable for our bodies. Our activities start to get less intense, we get tired, and our muscles don't get the rest they need to grow stronger. One or two days a week of rest allows our body the recharge that we need. Instead take that time to go on a short walk and enjoy the fresh air outside! (Better yet, grab your spouse or a kiddo and get some amazing one-on-one time with them!)

  2. Another way to recharge our bodies is by taking care of them, and a way to do that is massage therapy. Massages have so many benefits such as detoxification, pain management, improve sleep, and reduce stress.

Mind & Soul:

  1. Personal development books. My personal favorite is the Bible. There are so many useful nuggets of improving our sinful nature that you can find in the Bible. Also, there are a ton of books that you can get from the library, Amazon, or other book stores that you can find that can direct you as well. If you need any direction, I'd be more than happy to help.

  2. Prayer. There is nothing better to help clear your mind and get everything off your chest than praying it out. You may not get the answer you need right then, but there is a peace that comes over you when you give it all over to God. Plus, God ALWAYS answers in His time.

As I said, self-care is so important and vital to your well being. Especially if it is something that helps you destress and get away for a minute, it could even be as small as hiding in your closet for a few minutes, getting a pedicure, or reading a fiction book.

Sis, I pray that you find a way that works for you!
