HIIT Workouts: Save Time and Transform Your Life
Time. It is the one thing we can't get back in life. These days, as things are opening back up and life is getting back to semi normal, our days fill back up with to-dos.
Workouts tend to fall to the back burner, especially when the activities could last an hour or so. Add in the gym driving time, and you are out two hours of your life. Who has time for that?!
I know I don't, nor do I want to spend my precious hours on those activities.
What if I told you the greatest secret about working out that we’ve learned about in the last few years is all about HIIT?
High-intensity interval training (HIIT), also called high-intensity intermittent exercise (HIIE) or sprint interval training (SIT), is a form of interval training.
Basically, it’s an exercise strategy that alternates short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods. You repeat the pattern of intense and less intense until you’re too exhausted to continue. By doing this, you can get results in minute instead of hours at the gym doing traditional weightlifting or running for hours on the treadmill.
And that’s truly the secret to why so many people have had such great success with Fit Strong Mama!
If you really want to make the most of these workouts, these are my top three tips:
1. Try to maintain a consistent level of effort throughout the whole workout. Don’t go crazy at the beginning and tire out before you can finish! HIIT is most effective when you push hard and complete the entire workout!
2. Keep your rests short. Your low-intensity cycles or rests should be short – just enough to bring your heart rate down a touch, and then bring it back up with more intense intervals!
3. NEVER miss a warmup or cool down! Because HIIT workouts are short and intense, your body needs this time to help you stretch and heal.
